Although hurt and violence are illustrated in different ways throughout the novel, hurt, as well as violence surround most of the relationships found within The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. Oscar- With his struggles to find love and because of the constant rejection of any woman he 'fell in love with,' he endures a life time of hurt, which in turn becomes a life time of depression.
